My son, who has had mgd and dry eye for a few years now, woke up today with an incredibly red eye and a lump inside the same eye's upper eyelid, not directly on the lashline, but a bit above it. The skin around the lump is not red or pink, but his eye itself is noticeably pretty red. I did a warm compress 4 times on that eye today hoping the lump and redness would go away, but it's still exactly the same. I am just so frustrated with his eye issues as it seems there is always something going on and I can never figure out how to help him. A few weeks ago he got glasses for farsightedness and astigmatism. The optometrist assured me his complaints of burning eyes while reading would stop because he needed glasses and this would alleviate that. But, to no avail, he still complains his eyes are burning him and bright lights bother him. I know it could be worse, but this really upsets me. He sees his opthalmologist late November, but I wonder in the meantime what on earth to do about this lump in his eyelid. It looks nothing like a stye. I've not found a good local eye doc and we drive two hours out of state one way to see the doc he has that appointment with. Any tips, advice or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for letting me vent.
