Allergies and Dry Eye - my experience

I just wanted to share my experience with Dry Eye (that description includes Bleph, MGD, and I'm postmenopausal, and extensive RK on both eyes). I also have allergies - what is interesting, as I have aged, my eyes don't get itchy - but I will wake up one bright morning and have one eye (my bad one) will be very red (you know that red - the one where people look at you and then step back a few feet and ask if you are OK to work). The red did not respond to my prescription eye antibiotic, it didn't respond to my 4 hour allergies pills. I tried a different allergy pill, a daily 24 hour pill, and after 5 days my eye is back to normal (which still has red veins - but normal for me). It is sad that my eye doesn't have enough tears to wash away allergens. And before anyone asks - no drops do not work for me - I get nearly instant rebound, that is just for normal "tears" drops.
