I have a re-occurring rubbing/sticky feeling in the inner corner of my right eye, this eye is always more red and schirmer scores have been consistently low.
The feeling is above the upper tear duct and started about two months ago. Sometimes it disappears completely but sometimes I feel it for the whole day. It's not painful and there is no mucus or discharge, but it's very annoying, and there is a prominent red vein in the same area, which is pretty permanent.
Is it normal that foreign body sensation always occurs in the same place?
I've asked ophthalmologists about this, but they've never really been able to explain it. The skin on the inner eyelid seems more irritated (red) in that area too - could it be some kind of eyelid infection?
