Question about Plug

I have mixed feeling about plug. Last time I tried the temporary 90 days plug, it gave me immediate relief the day after. However, after two days, my eyes started to burn. Some of it was because of the ointment I was using.

Questions:
I read the relief from plug is temporary and people usually get back to baseline after a few days. Is it true?
I have rosacea, is it bad to get the plug?

My doctor does not have much experience with Rosacea patient.
