I finally got into a dry eye specialist in my area last week. He diagnosed me with severe dry eye (aqueous deficient), blephritis, and SPK.
After doing the slit lamp and saying all of these things out loud so that his assistant could record them I asked him to take a step back and explain to me exactly what was going on.
His answer was basically that someone with all of these problems that did not have a previous injury had to have something auto-immune related.
Obviously that did not explain what SPK was, so I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge about SPK. I am finding that various sources say different things about the cause, duration, treatment, etc. Just wanted to know if anyone has been diagnosed with this and could give me a simple answer as to what this means for me and my eyes.
