Last 1,5 months or so, I have used a combination of serum drops with DHA as described above, and Murine Nerve Growth factor (I prepared a solution from physiological saline and NGF - this idea is based on the scientific articles by Bazan et al described above (in one of the articles they describe how NGF can be used as a factor to promote NPD1 synthesis, and NGF has been used clinically in humans for eye conditions for many years) and right now I AM GREAT! I still have somewhat dry eyes in the mnorning, but my hopes are high! Don't want to say anything for sure, this has been a very cyclical condition for me. But I wanted to provide some hope! Today for example, apart from a short time after waking up, I have felt normal. I don't log into this forum now that I'm so much better, but if you have any pressing issues you could email me at lelagy at hotmail dot com. Take care all you fighters!

    Thats great to hear!
I have also been much better but having a backlash now for unclear reason. May be its also cyclical. I will email you later.

Whoa ~ murine? Is someone monitoring the nerves in your corneas still? Just read your thread http://www.dryeyezone.com/talk/showt...ght=#post78932 with zoso97's link about this. Dearly hope your experiments help you, Lelagy.

Hi, sorry not to answer, I almost never login here. I've been doing a lot of experimenting with different treatments, and for periods, I've felt very much better, and then it has turned around again. Now I found myself in a worse period and started to experiment with virgin coconut oil:

"I just apply it on the eyelids and the skin around the eyes and it finds its way into the eyes. I think there might be other posts on the forum about this, but just wanted to throw it out, since I experience extraordinary relief. I emailed a dry eye specialist, Pedram Hamrah at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, he had heard about it before, but didn't know anything about the safety."

              Hello again!

This is my most positive post ever I think. Some of you might have followed my previous experiments. My newest idea is based on the same theory (treatment with the omega 3 fatty acid plus growth factors might induce neuronal regrowth, please read my previous posts with articles to get the idea):

Some of you might think I'm a crazy person, but anyhow. I realised the "solution" was right in front of my eyes, cheap and readily available: Omega 3 eggs! I take an egg, mix the yolk with the white in a "sterilised" (i just use boiling water and let it cool of, of course it's not sterile, but this far I haven't had any infection) bowl, and then i suck it up in a syringe, mixing it with autologous serum, and use it as eye drops. It works marvelously, though it's a good idea to use coconut oil as I described before to protect the skin around the eyes, because egg gives a somewhat sticky feeling on the skin.

My theory is that the Omega 3 eggs contain quite a lot of DHA (even normal eggs do actually), and the serum contains the growth factor. I also think that egg must contain a lot of growth factors in itself, so maybe you can use just egg! It might be a good idea to mix it with some sterilized water to make it less viscous.

Of course, I don't know anything about long term effects but I feel great. Only thing is you get some crust around the eyes which might not be to aestethic, but who cares?

This weekend i went travelling!! A big step for me, I went on the course and I could concentrate on the course instead on managing my pain.

I rarely ever login here, so if you want to ask me something my email is lelagy at hotmail dot com
