  • RGP Contacts-Using Drops

    Hi All,

I wear RGP contacts and battle with dry eye here and there. I have a really basic question (sorry!) but here goes...

If I want to use a dry eye drop like Soothe or any other that you are not supposed to use "with" contacts, what do I do exactly? Do I do the drops and wait an hour? Do I wait ten minutes? Can I use them at all?

    Thanks soooo much!

I think with most moisturizing drops you can use them with RGP lenses. At least I was told it was alright. I am going to use Systane with mine. Hope that helps!

Using Soothe: After installing Soothe, wait at least 10 minutes before inserting your RGPs. This is a general rule of thumb for all eyedrops not specifically approved for RGPs.

Systane: I tried the preservative free version, but did not like it with my RGPs. Systane has "Guar gum" as a component, and I have read negative comments with respect to using that with RGPs.

I suggest you try "Aquify" instead with RGPs.
