So I was recently prescribed some Restasis in hope that it might be able to help me somehow but I have some conflicts.
1. I understand that Restasis works by suppressing inflammation of the eye and lacrimal ducts which allows your eye to produce more tears but my eyes aren’t really red or irritated looking since I put in a ton of drops so what exactly does inflammation look like and can you have inflamed lacrimal ducts but not an inflamed eye?
2. The first time I was offered Restasis about a month after PRK I turned it down because it seemed too early to me to be sticking some strange fungal protein in my eyes and I was afraid it might not be good for the tiny nerves trying to regrow. However, now I’ve found one study that’s says Cyclosporine A helps to speed up nerve regeneration/sensitivity after refractive surgery and another study on the potential neurotoxicity of Cyclosporine A so can someone clear this up for me
