  • When I have a cold... I can't feel my eye dryness

Whenever I get a cold, I can't feel my eye dryness much at all.

I have a mild case of dry eye as a result of Lasik from 5 years ago.
I don't use eye drops much these days. Only on bad days do I reach for the eye drops.
It's an annoyance that flairs up sometimes.

Whenever I get a cold, my eyes don't feel dry.
Maybe because my nose is running and my eyes are tearing up.

When cold goes away, my eyes go back to their (slightly) dry state.

    Strange.

Not that I like colds. I hate being sick!

This ALWAYS happens to me when ive got another sickness (sore throat, muscle pain, cold etc), for me it is because the body is off fighting the other acute illness so it is not sending inflammation to the eyes (which causes dry eye).

May be the case for you (sounds like it tbh), or it may be because your eyes are more watery.

I get this effect with a cold as well as everything else, so i know its not just the mucous of the cold.

I literally go from having severe symtoms to mild where I hardly notice my eyes in the space of 10 minutes when I can feel anxiety/muscle pain comming on.
