    About TBUT and Schirmer

Yes, I think a TBUT more than 10 is normal, which is what the doctor said. And as for the schirmer, with or without anaesthetic are quite different, I guess. They measure the basal tear and the basal tear together with the reflex one. I think the basal tear is normal to be over 10. And the basal with reflex should be more than 20.

I think sleeping is probably OK for me, but I can't tolerate contact lenses before the lasik. But without contacts, I can manage the driest environment and longest working hours.

I have heard from a doctor that people wearing contacts for very long time get very slight inflammation which can't be detected by docs.
