does anyone have any advise as to how to deal with all the excessive mucus

I find that the best thing is to put in drops frequently and don't fish it out. Mucus fishing (grabbing it with your finger tip or something else) only causes more to be produced. This is called Mucus Fishing Syndrome.Every day with DES is like a box of chocolates...You never know what you're going to get.
