  • external dcr surgery-Problem with eyelid blink

    HI
I had dcr surgery 2 weeks ago and it seems to have wen well however the eyelid beside the area that I had the surgery does not close fully when I blink. If closes when I have to go to sleep. Has anyone had this problem?

I'm not familiar with the surgery you mention, but for the past 14 years my right lids have not closed fully at night following an operation to remove an acoustic neuroma. Initally I had to exercise various facial nerves and muscles which had been damaged, and this included pulling the top lid down with my finger. I was told to use Lacrilube ointment on the eyeball at night and recently was advised to tape the lids together at night.

There are many threads about these procedures on the Forum, including discussion on suitable ointments, tapes and other actions to ease the problem.
