My girlfriend tells me that she's seen me sleep with my eyes kind of open at night. Every morning I wake up I have a dry gritty feeling in my eyes and I have crusties in the corner of my eye. They are hard crust like particles that people would refer to as the "sandman" visited you in your sleep. I'm wondering what could be causing this. My eyes seem to dry out every night even when I put in systane drops right before bed. I wake up in the morning and it's like the moisture was sucked right out of them. Anybody have any ideas why I get the crust and what else I can do to prevent this? Maybe I have gland dysfunction or blepharitis? I just went to the ophthalmologist and he said there wasn't anything he could find wrong with my eyes but I just can't believe that fully. I've been having problems for 2 years and nothing wrong doesn't solve my problem.
