    Hi Jenny

Anterior - commonly referred to as just Blepharitis. Could be Staphylococcal, Demodex or Seborrheic

Posterior - Meibomium Gland Dysfunction or MGD. Also referred to as Meibomian Blepharitis

The two types affect different parts of the eyelid and have different treatments. It's common to have a mixture of both but in different degrees of severity. Mine are like that - at the moment, the anterior form is the worst but I don't know why.

I use the occusoft foam and really like it. It's great for cleansing the eyelids after using my oily cyclosporine drops. It also does a great job removing makeup (on those days I'm brave enough to apply it). I find it to be very gentle and soothing.

It seems like you can buy the pads in a Walgreens/CVS, but not the foam; I buy it from Rebecca's DEShop.

Eye Love just published a wonderful article and video by Drs. Travis and Jenna Zigler discussing, in detail, what Blepharitis is, what causes it, how to treat it, and how to avoid it. Click here to read and watch "WHAT IS ANTERIOR BLEPHARITIS? HOW TO TREAT ANTERIOR BLEPHARITIS":
