  • Meibography: my MG are full of fibrosis. Glands could still be working?

    Hello,

today my doctor made me a meibography. He told me he is going to study the results and that I have to return next week to let him analyze my case and decide the better way of action.

Although, he briefly showed me the images of the meibography and he explained me that the upper MG (at least of the right eye which were the ones he showed me) are full of fibrotic tissue (scars). Lower MG are not too good but are in much better shape than the upper ones.

So...my question is...if this fibrosis could be destroyed, then my MG could be able to carry the oil to the eye but... is there any way of knowing if the MGs are producing oil? Because (I think, I am assuming)that if the MGs aren´t functioning an eventual destruction of the fibrosis would be useless...

Also, how this fibrosis could be destroyed without using mechanical means such as probes or ipl?

What kind of treatment do you think my doctor may propose me next week?

    Thanks.
Working...
