  • coffee and mgd? do most of you continue to drink coffee

i was just curious as if most of you still drink coffee with the eye issues? i do. never could give it up although i have cut it down to 1/2 a cup and drink it warm not hot.. havent noticed any change with the eyes

was just wondering if anyone else has noticed anything after drinking coffee? dryness? redness? thanks

also interesting about the mutli vitamin thing=saying it contributes to dry eye... i take multivitamins but sometimes wonder if they actually do anything...

I could not give up my coffee, drink 4-6 cups per day. I notice dehydration makes my eyes worse. As long as I alternate a cup of coffee with a cup of water to maintain hydration my DES is not made worse by the coffee.
Every day with DES is like a box of chocolates...You never know what you're going to get.

I gave it up years ago due to caffeine content but occasionally I do have a cup of decaf as a treat. I miss it.
I've asked a lot of doctors about it and most say decaf is fine but I went to a rheumatologist who said that decaf is only marginally better than regular and she recommends her patients not drink it.

I'm guessing kitty has the right idea, as long as you balance it out with a glass of water, it's probably not critical unless you notice a real impact.

That's a pretty interesting article. I love my coffee, but also love my water and drink lots of it. I quit multivitamins after reading about research not showing it's of any use. But there are certain vitamins, minerals and omegas I take. Not sure what's best to do!
