anybody else with MGD been on doxycycline for years?

i asked my doc about cutting down my dose and he said not yet cause my glands still get clogged..well they have for 5 years and i dont know if the doxy helps..it helps the redness in my skin..but..

who else takes doxy or Oracea long term?

i haven't been on doxy long term but i would be worried about what it is doing to your body's healthy gut flora. I would definitely recommend a probiotic to mitigate some of the negative effects of tetracyclines in that regard (obviously azasite is a different story because its administered directly into the eye)

What dosage are you taking Jenny?

100mg 2x a day.. for a bit i went down to 40mg (oracecea) but my mgd's got worse.
i do take a probiotic nightly...
i know some people take them for years and years... i just dont know what to do.. have only been seeing this doc since dec so
i think he is hoping my mgd gets better first...thanks for the help....
