Anyone try this? I think flushing makes my eyes worse

  • #2
I've been on clonidine for a year. Most say the dose is 50mcg twice per day, but no one really knows what to use. I think it helps with some flushing, but not all (for e.g., not helpful after eating, when warm temp). I haven't felt it help my eyes. And beware because it's drying. I often can't speak for a while (no saliva) after I take a dose.

I don't think it makes my eyes worse - definitely my mouth though (click instead of talk!).

Do you know your flush/blush triggers? I would put together a good list of your triggers and sit down with a knowledgable derm (easier said than done on both counts, I know).

IMO it's not an "out there" thing to try. You just need to find the right derm (or better - a GP since they have more experience with alpha and beta blockers).

        Good luck.
