Obviously one of the main symptoms / causes of blepharitis is the 'debris' that you get in and around the eyelashes. But do we actually know what that debris is?! It's normally referred to vaguely as 'abnormal oil secretions' or 'oil debris' or 'bacterial debris', but it seems to me that no-one actually knows for sure what it is!
Or am I wrong? Do we know with 100% certainty exactly what it is and why it's there?
