  • Rosacea and Melanotan II

Any rosacea sufferers heard of or tried Melanotan II?

    http://melanotan.org/

Melanotan II was originally developed to induce the body's natural tanning system to produce a protective tan prior to UV exposure (taken intravenously ). The product claims that it is effective in protecting against skin cancer as well as rosacea because it is an epidermal thickening agent and also has anti-inflammatory properties. However, this product is NOT FDA APPROVED (bodybuilding website I came accross claimed approval was expected in 2008 or 2009 - although I could not substantiate said claim). Anyways, I came accross this product while looking around on the following rosacea forums:

Was curious if anyone on this site had ever tried Melanotan II and, if so, did it help at all with ocular rosacea?

    I am interested in this.

Is it clear as to whether this works as an anti inflammatory or just masks redness from the tan?

It might be worth trying for ocular rosacea.
