Do you think Dry eye could be caused by a Virus?

I was just wondering, do any of you think that Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, and dry eye could be caused by a virus of some sort? I also had blood work done by a doctor who tested for everything and they found That I tested possitive for Mono as well, which I've had the same symptoms for over a year.

So i guess I am wondering if their could be some kind of connection with MGD/Blepharitis and virus.

Mine was triggered off 2 years ago by a viral infection of the eyes
I got this from a baby grandson who had "sticky" eyes, and the rest of his family 2 other little boys , all got infections and they cleared up in a couple of weeks -apparantly most eye infections in babies are viral - same bugs as cause the common cold , and are highly contagious
Well grandma here got it and it took 3 weeks on antibiotic drops containing BAK which i did'nt realize i was allergic to, and my eyes have never been right since
