I saw an optometrist a month or so ago and she noticed that in my right eye the oily film seemed to be bubbling up funny. From some other posters comments I figure it could be a sign that I may be suffering from MGD. Is MGD a common side effect of lasik? I guess it could just be that lasik may have exacerbated a condition that was already there. It has been said that with MGD the oil film is producing a soap like by product, it makes me think that the feeling I'm getting especially in my right eye and often intensified when I blink is one of soap in the eye.
How is MGD usually diagnosed? and what treatments usually work best? i guess the most common would be warm compresses and eyelid scrubs and in some cases the use of antibiotics.
