not sure why my eyes are dry. Been red every morning for 2 years. ALlergy drops dont work..no drops have worked. I have been having some sinus and bad headache last few weeks. I am not sure if this is causing my dry eyes or do i have allergies. My eyes dont itch like allergy eyes. They are just really red and burn like crazy. Sensitive to certain lights and they get worse in high beam light, malls, airports, etc.?? They also burn when i am near perfume, etc...my face burns and get headace and eyes turn red? Coudl this be allergies or sinus. Headache is just now starting for past 2 weeks as well as burning eyes. Please let me know.

Hi Shane,
I know you don't like to hear this -- but everything you have described in this and your previous posts, points to ocular rosacea. It doesn't matter if you don't have any facial symptoms, or no doc has said you have it (most are completely clueless and uninformed about it). I have posted links on here before about ocular rosacea and am positive that if you read them with an open mind you sill see for yourself. I have it and my eyes are exactly as you describe yours are.
Empathetically,
Alison

Hi Shane -
I agree with Allison.
You have posted this question many times on this forum and seem to not like our answers. But I don't think that you are going to get any other answers. Because what you describe is ocular rosacea to a tee - redness, burning, chemical sensitivites, reaction to flourescent lighting (this is VERY typical). Also, ocular rosaceans have a high propensity to also develop allergies. So you may have overlapping conditions.
I think that you may want to move beyond posting this post and begin to look for some information on the board about possible therapies to help yourself.
Good luck.

Hi,
just saw this and something stood out for me: the comment about chemical \perfume sensitivity. I have a specialist shaving gel that seems to fume a bit when I use it and I notice my eyelids redden when I'm shaving. It then seems to settle a bit later. I thought nothing of it but now I'm not so sure. I've always thought I have a mild light sensitivity, though no more than any normal person might expect. Bright car headlights are a particular bother for me.
Any thoughts here Alison or Gretchen? I've been to an Opto twice and he never discussed Roscaea as a possibility. Would he have looked for this as a routine check?
I have a thyroid autoimmune disease which is assumed to be my probable main cause however.

you guys are wrong. I finally figured it out. I have seriosu allergy eyes and patenol seems to fix my eye problem. I assume i had dry eyes but it was caused by allergies and patanol helps it amazing. I hear patanol is fine long term,...is this true. I know what rosacea is...i am not even close to candidat efor that. thanks for trying but you were wrong.
