Any Views Please As I Feel Ive Reached The End Of The Road

hi guys

well im really desperate for any more views on my problem as i dont want it be like ive got it end of ,nothing i can do stage......

my symptoms:

lack of oil but havent got blocked glands
tears evaporate quickly
some people say i had bumps under my top lid some people say i havent
bit of inflammation under my top lids
photophobia

ive had blood tests for all major immune problems and been tested for lots of other stuff by rhumatology, everythings fine.
just had some allergy tests done and there ok.

so now im like well is that it have i done all i can now but why cant i produce oil i just want to know why.
i take fish oil,vitamins etc.

only thing im really worried about is i had an operation on my nose but i think it was like few months before my dry eyes started but had bad bruising around my eyes,could this have caused anything as ive asked so many poeple and no one knows.

if anyone can advice if i can do anything else or knows anything related then id be so grateful.

Hi Kate,

I'm sorry that you feel that way...dry eye is a very tough disease to beat. I try not to worry about it being end stage too much because there are always new treatments coming out: IPL, Kineret, etc

What treatments have you tried? Are you sure that you don't have blocked glands, just less oil? I have been diagnosed by good docs that I have REALLY bad MGD, but other less experienced docs have told me that my MGs are perfect. For MGs, there are a ton of things to try: fish oil, Freshkote, Restasis, Doxy, Azasite, IPL, Kineret, sclerals, steroids, NAC supplements, etc.

Have you been diagnosed with allergies, OR, etc? Allergies can sometimes be a cause of the problem, but docs miss that, esp if you don't have the classic symptoms of itching.
It takes a really good doctor to figure this out...have you overcome that hurdle yet?

well i had some allergy tests done today for the ten most common allergies and nothing showed.
i use to do hot compresses but my eyes went even worse after and an eye specialist says to do cold ones cuz of the inflammtion and he says cuz my gland arnt blocked then heat wont help.

but ive started to think is he right but ive seen that many people i cant seem to get a straight diagnosis and when i do i seem to not feel confident in what ive heard.
but this is why im confused if i dont have blocked glands then how cant u produce oil

but im takin vitamins and fish oils and tryin to eat healthy but nothin helps really

so i dont know what else to do

Hi Kate, yes it is confusing when different doctors will tell you different things. Have you been to one of the doctors recommended by some of our members?
Also, it is possible to not have blocked glands, but to produce less oil than normal. I am not sure how that is treated. Maybe Dr. Latkany has the answer?

i have seen a doc meantioned on here but ive lost faith in them.
i will ask dr latkany thanks for reminding me of that as i forgot i could do that.
i wont give up hope as i do beileve theres a cure out there somewhere
