  • Today's tip: Clean your humidifier!

This winter I've been pretty lazy about cleaning my humidifiers. I waited until my cool mist humidifier was actually making funny sounds to take it apart and take a look. Yuck, yuck, yuck! It took me forever to scrub it clean. It is definitely something that should be done more often!

I just cleaned mine yesterday! I just installed a new filter a couple of months ago and have cleaned the humidifier several times since. Mine was not bad when I cleaned it yesterday.

Thanks for the advice, Shelley. Junk like that cannot be good for anyone!

      Definitely good advice.

I've also taken to using only distilled water when I'm firing up the old humidifier. It seems to leave virtually no residue behind and is pretty cheap in those 2.5 gallon jugs at the market....

That time of the year again!

It is that time of the year again, the heat is on at work, and I can really feel it in my eyes! Don't forget that humidifiers at home and at work can really help sometimes.

humidifier that require very little care and cleaning

I very happy with my 7135 Air-O-Swiss humidifier. It has a demineralization cartidge that remove minerals from the water to prevent white dust so there is no fur /scale left. Also there is Ionic silver stick which has an anti bacterial effect.

cleaning is minimal once in a while with water and require less than 5 minutes. Also this humidifier never broke or had any problem during the 3 years I have it. It's expensive but worth the cost. It has other useful features as well, and it's very quiet.
