  • SynergEyes

I've had my new synergeyes multifocal contacts almost 2 weeks now and I really like them. My photophobia is greatly reduced. It is great to be able to go in Walmart and not have to wear my tinted goggles. It is also great to look normal again without the swollen eyes. My doctor wants me to see better so I am waiting on one new lens. I am still trying to decide whether I should keep using drops even though my eyes don't feel dry when the lenses are inserted. My greatest fear is that when I go back for a check up that he will tell me that I have to quit wearing them!

Pecan 121, that sounds like good news. I hope your next report comes back positively as well.

I must ask, have you had refractive surgery? thanks, Lucy

I am still really happy with my Synergeyes; however, I am starting to have problems with protein build up on the lenses.
At this point, I am willing to clean them 2-3 times a day because I feel so much better. I look forward to putting them in and dread taking them out in the evening

I think I am my doctor's only successful dry eye patient with these lenses. ( He has had successes with keratoconus patients.) I feel lucky to have found a compassionate young doctor and staff who were willing to take a chance on me. These lenses require several fittings to get it right. I don't think my previous doctor would have been willing to put in much time.

Lucy, I forgot to answer your question. No, I have not had refractive surgery. I have Sjogren's.

May I ask who your physician is, and where he is located? Thanks!

I cannot believe that! Wow! I am going to Jonesboro myself next week. Perhaps I will give him a call. Too cool! What are the odds!

Thank you so much. This made my day! Gotta be a good thing.

I don't want to discourage you but I am having a little trouble with my lenses because of protein. My lenses require removing and cleaning or using a product like Blink'n Clean. I have gone from describing them as "An Absolute Miracle" to "miraculous" to "Very Worthwhile." I plan on using them mainly on long automobile trips to protect me from the car a.c. and when I go out to eat or shop. I am really photophobic and just hate commercial lighting. The lenses do offer protection and it is nice to look ordinary and not have to wear goggles. The goggles weren't working that well anyway and I have tried 3 colors - dark grey, copper, and light peachy beige. At home I do okay until my dryness really kicks in during the evening. My peachy goggles really help at the computer and tv.

I hope you have really good luck if you try the lenses.

pecan, i hope you continue to get some use from them, i have similar with sclerals in the build up of something on the lens (not sure what exactly builds up...) but also they get quite uncomfortable after 4-5 hours, so I'm sort of in the same boat of feeling like they are worthwhile and bring something at least! Haven't noticed a reduction in my light sensitivity yet but not sure if that's because I can't wear them all day.

I was told to expect to wear a pair of these lenses for about 6-7 months because the protein build up would get too bad and that unlike regular RGPs the deposits cannot be polished off. So far the lenses aren't uncomfortable, I just get annoyed at the fog that comes and goes. Of course I also get annoyed by just regular eye gunk when I'm not wearing them! I am still in the trial phase and received a new lenses yesterday. I think this one is a keeper.

I'm getting less fog with putting in certain drops before wearing but the fog still catches up with me eventually it is really annoying!!

vismed and vislube, not sure if that's a European product though.
