Why are there no topical pain killers to give temporary relief for corneal erosions? Don't medics have these for some tests they do? Why can't a milder one be sold for mild pain relief?

Tempting but totally counterproductive. Check out this thread where it was discussed before - Kakinda gives a good explanation why this is not an option for us.

Yeah I suppose its obvious. What about normal painkillers like Paracetamol and Ibuprofen? Can these help through major dry episodes?

Topical pain killers

At one point, my previous eye doctor gave me Voltaren eye drops for eye pain but I didn't feel like it really helped. My new doctor has given me a prescription for Acular and I find that when I am having an especially bad eye pain situation (like an erosion), this works pretty well and seems to get things under control fairly quickly.

Anyone else any experience with volterol eye drops?
I asked Dr Latkany if they were appropriate for DE sufferers and he said he had used them (see Q & A )
I feel that if I knew i had some form of effective pain relief - only in reserve when the pain got bad - I could cope better
After all it is an anti- inflammatory for those of us who have inflammation and when used orally for aches and pains it is quite effective
Why not for the pain of DE ?
It is a lot safer than steroids
Any opinions and ideas ?
