Eye lid primer?

I was just wondering if for those of us that have a problem with eye shadow has tried using an eye lid primer? I usually wear cream shadow, but lately have been trying using a primer on my lids. not sure if it makes any difference but I have noticed my eye shadow doesn't shift or smear like it does with out. I like to imagine it's helping the powder from flaking off into iny eyes. Just a suggestion I thought I would toss out there.

I find if I blend eye shadow it doesn't disappear as fast, i.e. if I use all the shading/blending colours and do it properly.
