My eyes are usually red and bloodshot. After working at the computer, my eyes look like they are sunburned! The pollen really is bothering my eyes this year, increasing the redness. I just started on my first course of steroids and that seems to be helping the redness considerably.

Yes, my dry eyes are red. When I feel them burning, I know they are very red.

I have been working very hard lately on getting my dry eye under control with various treatments. My eyes are much less red, just kind of "tired looking" now. I really wish I could get the whites of my eyes looking nice and clear and white. The only time I've seen them that white was when I was on steriod drops 3x day. Obviously that's not a treatment that can be sustained, but that's another story...

I do have some very prominent veins in my right eye. They are much more visible than in my left. I think that contributes to the overall tired look in that eye. (My right eye is my "bad" eye as far as dryness goes. ) Those veins never disappeared with the use of steroids as they did in my left eye. I wonder what's up with that?

Do you all that have dry eye also have red, bloodshot eyes? A lot of websites that list the side effects of dry eye focus on discomfort and itchiness, and don't mention redness. Just wondering if anyone out there has dry eyes that aren't red.

My eyes are pretty red. I haven't tried steroids yet but I think that may be my next step. All the pollen in the air right now doesn't help either.

PS. I have dry eyes from wearing contact lens.
Working...
