im thinking along the lines of software that would induce me to blink regularly without having to rely on me doing it deliberately using reminders or such. i get moderately dry eyes from computer (over-)use, and i would like to make my eyes moisturised by preventing the low blink rate that accompanies my work when i concentrate looking at the screen for hours every day. the basic question is do you know of any software applications that may be able to induce a higher blinking rate?
more specifically, would it work if at regular intervals something would grow very large on my screen very fast, to mimic say a snake jumping into my face, which i imagine would make me blink even if i tried to resist it? is there any software out there that i could evaluate such an approach with?
as an alternative approach, im aware of blinknow, which displays another person blinking in your peripheral vision, which is supposed to increase blink rate ( http://www.blinknow.co.uk/index.php?act=viewDoc&docId=5) . also Blinkers here! http://www.dryeyezone.com/reminders/
i hope to evaluate this approach to see how effective it is.
do you know of any non-reminder-based approaches out there?
