what kinda humidifier am I supposed to buy?

Im gonna start my first full time job in Sep. Due to the dryness of my eyes, I think I am supposed to bring a humidifier to the workplace. the thing is I have 6months probation, if I bring a humidifer with fog spreading everywhere, it may reduce my chance of getting a permanent contract.

does anyone know any humidifiers in the UK which is small, no fog and quiet? How am i gonna tell my boss abt this? I really dont want to lose my job due to dry eyes.

I can't help you with specific suggestions, but I can tell you not to worry about fogging. I've never gotten any fog at all from humidifiers large or small. You might see some droplets in the air just as it is released from the machine, but that's it.

You will not regret the use of a humidifier. Best of luck finding one.

Last spring I bought 4 different ultrasonic humidifiers, and ended up taking each one back to the store. 3 of them just plain quit working after 3-4 days, and the other one never worked from day one. I got my money back, but I was sure hoping they would work. They weren't cheap ones, either.

I'm thinking our city water just has too many minerals or something. When I was trying them, the directions said it was OK to use tap water. Later, as they were "going on the blink," I used Reverse osmosis water, but the units just died.

Anybody else have this problem? I need to buy one for this winter, but I'll get the evaporative type instead.

Dry Texas Weather`

I've had to use a humidifier in the house this summer. Texas is so dry. I researched this forum and read a lot of on-line reviews. I decided to buy the Hunter Care Free Humidifier Plus. I bought 3 of them. 2 large ones and one small one. We have one of those long sprawling ranch type homes. The ones I bought have humidistats in them. I also bought a humidistat so I could check the humidity in the areas of the house where the humidifiers are located. So far they are running fine. I did have to send one of them back right away because it was noisy. It was replaced with no question and I am running one of them right behind me now.

NEW humidifier?

have you guys heard the humidifier with filter? its designed for the tap water with too many minerals. there is no 'steam' coming out from the machine, but its not evaporative type either. its said the filter blocks those minerals so the H2O coming out from the humidifier is pretty 'clean'. bad thing is you have to change the filter every season as it will become dirty and full of those minerals
