Lakeside Ophthalmology of Clinton Township has been certified to prescribe and administer an advanced dry eye treatment called Prokera, a biologic corneal bandage/medical device made from amniotic tissue.

“Upon removal patients have told me they see clearer, colors are more vibrant, and their dry eye symptoms are gone,” Brandow said. “The amniotic membrane stimulates the stem cells on the cornea and heals the surface of the eye with regenerative medicine. Research shows the affects can last anywhere from six months to five years.

Six months to five years is amazing, I hope this helps out many of us.
