I'm in the South and according to reports it's a record flu season for us. Though there are a number of theories as to why this year is unusual, this news report last night said it could be attributed to dry air. Vapor in the air binds to the germs and they fall to the ground, whereas with dry air they circulate around longer (up to twenty feet for a sneeze!). So if you have office-mates who for whatever reason are opposed to having a humidifier around, this makes a fantastic case for it!
