  • Gunnar glasses with RX

I went to the Gunnar site (www.gunnaroptiks.com) and liked the Sphere Halogen frame, but couldn't find any information about RX lenses. Has anyone had experience fitting Gunnar frames with RX lenses? Is this something most optometrists would be able to do despite the wrap-around design?

I moved this to form a separate thread so it would be more visible.

I think most Gunnars can take up to about -4.0 but I think you need to go through one of their dealers because (not 100% sure but...) I think the lenses need to be done by the mfr not by the local optician - they are a unique lens with a special curvature. Try their dealer locator page at this link but make sure you select Rx under 'select a category'.

Halogen is a great frame. Of all those I tried on, it has the best coverage.

      Gunnars

Yes you have to go to one of their dealers. I also need a RX prescription.
I was hoping a local eye doctor would start selling the Gunnars, but no luck yet. I have a hard time with the lights at work.
