  • Please answer-Has the Seefit/megs company gone under?

Has the Seefit/megs company gone under? I've sent them several posts in the last month and placed two calls--I haven't heard from them yet and I'm loosing hope. I see my Cornea specialist the beginning of Dec. and he says I either need Boston sclerals (no way I can afford them,) or megs...but I can't seem to find a company to buy them from. I've found an optician who cut glasses to anything needed, but there has to be a moisture environment product that he can work with (I also have a latex allergy, so the product would have to be made of silicone.) It's too painful going around with eyes so dry.

Maybe someone here could at least chime in on whether I should get 2 of my tear ducts cauterized?

Any help would be so appreciated (I might just hug the computer, lol!)

    Thanks,

Regarding the Seefit Meg's company... back when I was in contact with them, they were very slow to respond to e-mails... hopefully you'll hear from them soon!

(((Thank you so much for writing, SAAG )))

They look so comfortable (or maybe it's just the idea of less painful eyes do.) I was just stumbling around their site under caring for megs and I see they're rubber. By any chance do you know if they contain latex (a bad allergy of mine)? I honestly hope they don't : )

      Many thanks again!

No, I don't know about the latex thing... sorry! I wonder if there is any latex in that clear stuff people use as table protectors... you know... the clear plastic that you drape over a table like a tablecloth? That's the stuff my optician used to make the moisture shields on my custom moisture chambers... maybe it's latex free??

See Fit (MEGS) - horrible customer service or gone out of business???

I too was wondering about Seefit. I've left them 4 voicemails and emailed them with no response in about 3 weeks. It's driving me absolutely nuts. I can't believe a company could have such poor customer service....if they're even in business. If you hear anything about them or if they get back to you, let me know, and I'll do likewise. I'm interested in them, since it looks like they might be the most flattering option for me (I have a really small face, and everything else I've seen looks like it would be huge). Good luck!

            Megs vs other options

I bought a pair of megs about a year ago. I didn't like them because they don't hug to the face well enough. I have researched many options w/ moisture chambers. I currently have a pair of custom made moisture chambers (wire rimmed glass w/ the plastic guards) that I got from an optician in FL. I use these in the office.

I also have a pair of $20 sunglasses w/ the wrap around from Harley Davidson. And, I just got the "dust buster" glasses I saw on the dry eye shop. I really like both of these.

Again, the megs were my least favorite...poor customer service, pricey and not a good fit.

I wonder why this company can exist

I had the same problem last year. I had to write to them several times. I didn't get any answer to my questions. (I had a lot of questions)
not until I wrote them that I really want to buy a pair of MEGs but that's impossible because I can't finish my order with the shipping desteny "Germany" I got a really fast answer....
i don't think that the MEGS do a good job. They don't look good in my face (the frame is too large) and they don't seal. I notice nearly no improvement when I wear them and I look like a neard with them.
My advice: Get some custom moisture chambers like SAAG discribed in her blog. They look better, seal better and aren't more expensive than the MEGs.
Please don't hesitate to correct my English - I'm still learning
