I use an eye cream round where my tranquileyes goggles sit at night, but I think the problem I had was due to moisture and friction from the foam outer pads. A heavy cream might make a barrier for you. Is moisture sitting at the bottom? close fitting chambers do tend to steam up especially if you soak part of them first. Maybe a roll of tissue sitting just inside would work.

If it is an allergy to the frame, barrier of some kind cold protect you. Nail varnish might work but try a tiny bit first in case it melts the plastic. There are water based varnishes which set which you can get from craft shops.

Moisture chambers are so useful I hope something helps. If the tissue works, don't worry
