  • Wrap around sunglasses for nearsightness

I am very nearsighted and was told I could not get the Wiley X sunglasses because my prescription was too strong. Does anyone know of other options for wraparound sunglasses for strong prescriptions?

I'm not sure just how strong "strong" is, but ... you may have some luck with one of the sources on this page:

    Good luck!

Nitey, how strong are ya talkin' about, as Neil asks? RX are a problem with wraparound glasses because of a fishbowl effect. The wrap distorts your prescription and the higher the RX, the more the distortion.

This can make you dizzy or nauseous and probably a lot of other things. I have a couple of pair with RX and progressive bifocals. Talk about double trouble. I have one eye at -4.3 and the other about -1.0. I have Panoptx in this RX and it works for me, although it is far from what one would really want. But, under my other options, my choice is none, so they are functional. YMMV--- When you turn your head, this effect is in full force and it feels like you are on a tilt-a-whirl at the county fair. It takes awhile for your stomach to catch up to your eyes.
