Hi all,
Over the last few months I have been compiling a list of eyewear that might be helpful to the DES sufferer. I figured I would post it in the hopes that it may help someone find relief. I don't think this is an exhaustive list of everything that is available, but there are definately some good ideas here. If anyone knows of a resource that I missed, please let me know.

Not exactly pertaining to wind resistance, but related to eyewear - what is your opinion of FL-41 tinted glasses? There are some links to these, which involves a special tint to help with light sensitivity. It's difficult to find them except in certain areas, unless one wants to special order them.

Actually that is the first I have ever heard of FL-41. I learn something every day! I certainly will look into it more. Is it something you currently use?

I have prescription lenses with the FL-41 tint. My neuro-ophthalmologist prescribed it to mitigate my photophobia. While my dry eyes exacerbate my photophobia, the underlining cause of it is neurological and not ophthalmological. If my photophobia was strictly related to my dry eyes then regular dark sunglasses would probably be more appropriate.

Btw, getting the tint on my lenses was not easy. I have VSP and they refused to do the tint. My optometrist ordered my glasses from VSP, sent them to another lab for the tint, and then sent them to a 3rd lab for the anti-reflective coating.

BARZ CROSS-SPORT GOGGLES and Sailing

Brilliant post!

When I went looking for wind resistant glasses, I only came up with the Panoptx and Wyle. I have the Panoptx and they're good, but a bit bulky and they aren't 100% wind resistant, but I do ok with them.

Anyway, the surprise was the BARZ CROSS-SPORT GOGGLES. My husband and I have a sail boat which he races. I'm not a big race person (it's a really hard day on the water!), but with the lasik dry eye there is no way that I could even go for a leisurely sail, but .. maybe I can .. with those sports goggles .. :-) Happy day for me.
