  • Viva Las Vegas

For Christmas my rents are thinking of taking me to Vegas. While I am super excited (I love Vegas) I am also super scared. As everyone knows I am a real baby when it comes to wearing my moisture chambers. I can get by outside in NY without them (even to the beach) but believe I will have to have them glued to my face in Vegas. Anyone on this board ever get by in Vegas without some moisture chambers? I mean just walking around outside.

I've been there a few times and haven't really had any problems. Of course its always been triple digits or close to it and my eyes are always decent in that weather. There is a lot of dust though. Do you have Wiley-x/Panoptix sunglasses?

Kim, if you've got a 0 schirmer, frankly I'm not sure how much sense it makes to not take basic precautions in an adverse environment. I have much more aqueous production and I don't go out on a windy day without mcs.

Kim, I've been to Vegas many times since my lasik. The first time was 6 weeks post-op and I was a real mess and really didn't even know what was going on at that time, except using lots of drops.

Go to Vegas, take your "goggles" and some sunglasses, all your drops and stuff. You can have a marvelous time. I posted in here somewhere that my last trip to Vegas in Nov '07 that was my best dry eye trip ever. You already know the routine, be prepared, also be prepared to have a good time. Lucy

        PS. I am soooo jealous.

          Thanks

Thanks all. I am going to a speciality store this weekend to look at some moisture chamber eyewear. I have a very hard time fitting and really don't like the look of some but I think it is time to bit the bullet. Thanks again.

Kim, I want to add that "nothing" is odd in Las Vegas. You could probably walk down the street wearing 6 pair of goggles/glasses and no one would take notice. Believe me! Lucy
