A coworker of mine who also has lasik induced dryness asked me if safety glasses with the side panels would also be useful as moisture chamber glasses. He showed me on a website for Lenscrafters that they do look similar to the moisture chambers we have seen online. I have never used either so I have no first-hand knowledge of this. Has anyone used safety glasses as moisture chambers?

Lasiklady.......safety glasses can and often are used as moisture chambers. Sometimes they are made to look better than something regularly called "moisture chambers." Remember, moisture chambers can be almost anything you want to call them for helping your eyes. LucyDon't trust any refractive surgeon with YOUR eyes.

absolutely yes!
I've been using them for a couple of years - both tinted (for outside in the sun) and plain lenses for indoor wear. I get them from e-bay - manufactured by Global Vision, they're very cheap and don't look that bad....and they work!

These are the ones I wear everyday. They have vents to reduce fogging, but I blocked the bottom vents with tape to help keep more moisture in. They work real good, and they are cheap. They also come with interchangeable temples if you don't like the strap. I have ordered from these guys 3 times, and have had no problems.

My very first two pairs of safety glasses (I needed a prescription pair) were made like this: http://www.sideshield.com/b27.shtml. They worked well at keeping side air from entering my eyes. Not really good to keep all the air out but it was an option when you needed to keep wind from getting in. That company has several styles too. Anything we use is a compromise. But..I'll use any help I can get.
