my RX 2 strong 4 Panoptx- doomed ?

Well, went into the medical optometrist's at our local hospital, very excited to purchase a pair of prescription Panoptyx, as a number of you had recommended (so that I can stop wearing my Onion goggles with my glasses over top - not really a fashion statement I care to make!). The optician now says my prescription is too strong for a wraparound lens like Panoptyx and it can't be done. Am I doomed to the strange two-glasses look forever or do any of you have a brilliant idea (fingers crossed!)?
