    Hi

i would like some advice regarding sleeping with severe dry eyes post lasik . i am a steroid responder so no steroids for me
My eyes are very inflammed from poor night protection. apart from not sleeping i have no other ideas.

I put drops theratear gel every 15 minutes during day . i have tried lacrilube - horrible as poor strenght. genteal gel does not last half hour. Tranquile goggles make my eyes sweat thereby drawing out all moisture.

currently using vitapos A ( vitamin a) ointment but as things have worsen i now end up with bloodshot burning very painful eyes after 3 hours of sleep . however my eyes open easily. i also sleep with eye mask which hurt my very sore eyes but better than nothing. i have big eyes so special no contact masks DO make contact.

im not allergic to the ointment but rather don't get enough moisture.
Taping my eyes might work but lubrication would still be an issue. right?
Sleep is making my eyes worse so i havent slept properly in a while but i need a rest

    Might buy a humidifier ..

    Please share any ideas

Don't be so sure you are not allergic. I too woke up every AM with painful swollen bloodshot eyes which improved as the day went on. Turns out I was allergic to the Genteal Gel. I recommend you get oniyx goggles (much smaller and easier to sleep with than the tranquil) and put enough damp gauze behind them that your eyes cannot open in the night. Don't put any ointment in your eyes not even Vit A. Quit using Genteal Gel for the next few weeks. I have a humidifier but it is not enough. You may still need to add a preservative free drop in the night (I prefer Systane Ultra but that is a personal preference). See if that doesn't help...cheers....F/G
