    gel pads ?

Was just thinking about keeping your eyes shut at night and that took me back to my nursing days when we took care of unconcious patients in intensive care - we had to pay great attention to their often half opened eyes
We used stuff called jeliperm - a see-through hydrogel sheet that we cut up to cover each eye You had to keep it moist and it only lasted about 8 hours - I googled it but it is far too expensive to be used by us
My idea would be to tape that over each eye-from brow to cheek and that would cause minimal trauma to the lids.
Something similar and less expensive ,if anyone had any ideas

That led me to consider the gel mask i sent for from Rebecca's shop !
It's meant to be chilled and used as a cool pad but it has an elastic attatched to keep it on the head ,and if you tightened that it puts enough pressure on the eyes to keep them closed It,s soft smooth and shaped
Must try it tonight - I am at present using onion goggles as moisture chambers but they dont keep your eyes closed ( I like the fact you can see through them, and they do help)
Mind i dont have corneal ulcers - not so far

There are several bandage type products available - usually pretty expensive but not always prohibitive - like the Medtronic Bubble Eye Bandages. Unfortunately many of the companies, like Medtronic, will not sell to me - only to medical professionals. Also some pressure type pad things available. Nocturnal lagophthalmos is challenging. I've had calls from people who use CPAP for example and can't get Tranquileyes to work with it.

I sometimes just fall asleep with my rice baggy on. That'll sure keep the lids closed if you don't move

Sure appreciate all the product leads/tips people post here and will keep plugging away at checking them out.

Still trying to problem -solve on keeing eyes shut without taping ---
Found some clear gel pads i had for the ball of the foot to help relieve pressure if wearing highheels
I cut them to the size of the orbit of the eye and washed and boiled them to sterilize
They are quite slim and slightly sticky so cling well to the closed eye
I then put on the gel eye mask i got from Rebeccas shop(simple soother, not the eye spar one) and that holds them in place very well
There definately is no chance of the eyes opening and it is comfortable
Only problem i would have is -- Do your eyes get enough O2 overnight ??
Scholl make them and they are very cheap and called "part feet gel cushions"

You can also buy eyepatches with sticky tape on them. I have some and they are for kids, but work nicely if I need to patch my eye. Look at your drug store in the eye items or with band-aids. They are disposable with a one time use.
