If you are having trouble with your lid scrub, you might try Aveeno Baby Organic Harvest Foaming Shampoo. It is good stuff! Green and Healthy rates it at having no dangerous ingredients. It is unscented, tearless, organic and doesn't contain sodium lauryl sulfate. It isn't easy to find, so I had to order it through the internet. I've been using it for a couple of days, and it is very gentle and soothing.
