Just got back from the eye dr after having red/pink irritated eyes for 10 days. He said my lids were red at the margin and there was white foamy stuff noticeable also. Said I had a lowgrade lid infection and put me on antibiotics (oral) for a month. Here's my question: what does a lid infection feel like? Right now, my lids feel like thick slabs and sometimes they throb and ache. This feels sort of like they did when I started REstasis for the first time last month, can't tell the difference. If it wasn't for the eye irritation and redness, it wouldn't bother me much. I think I'm just trying to sort out what is from the supposed lid infection and what is from the Restasis.

I would continue with the Restasis.
Hi Sparrow,
I've been on Restasis for about 8 months now, and it has helped me. I'm still not perfect but at I don't have as much burning and my overall dry eye pain is less than it was before. I did have some of the same side effects that you are noticing (redness, aches, etc). Those side effects went away after about 5 or 6 months of treatment. I really think that you need to give it a good trial (like six months or more) to see if it really works for you. If you are still having burning, redness, and eyelid aches (and the medicine has not increased your tear production at all), then it's probably not worth continuing with treatment. I hope that this helps! Good luck!
