  • does mgd always show signs in a test?

Hi i posted about this yeaterday. but havent had a response yet. The main thing i want to know is if you have MGD, will there be signs of any dry eye apart from the TBUT? and is it possible that you could have MGD with out these signs, like blocked glands etc.

MY TBUT was 6 secs which is MGD but doc said i didnt have it coz there were no other signs only allergies! p.s. I do have bleptheritis.

has anyone else had no other signs of MGD?

Did the doctor look at the inside edge of your eyelids. Sometimes you can see that they are stopped up with a magnifying mirror. My doc checked my oil glands by putting pressure there with a q-tip. The oil that came out was thicker than it's supposed to be... I'm trying to do warm compresses everyday to thin the secretions.

      Maybe this will help: http://www.agingeye.net/otheragingeye/blepharitis.php

I had a similar experience to Missy's. My doc pressed on the meibomian glands. Mine were plugged and when he was able to express some oil, it was thick.
