  • Need quick answer!

Unfortunately I am not around a doctor, and my eye doctor is on vacation at the moment.

I went to walk-in I had been using fucilthalmic for blepharitis, I told the doctor at walkin i need a refill, i explained i put it on my eye lids and scrub with a q-tip.

When I went to fill the prescription i noticed right before bed he gave me fucidin. Its similar to fucilthalmic but not to be put in your eyes.

I noticed online a few people used this for blepharitis treatment as well.

I want to ask since I have a presentation tommorrow, and dont want my eyes to be bothering me, can I use fucidin to scrub on my lids? Or is this not to be used on my eye lids.

I clearly told him i use this as a lid scrub, so its hard to believe a doctor would give me something that cant be used as a lid scrub. It does say dont put any in your eye, but I dont try getting any in my eye anyway.

Yikes, sorry to hear that. Sounds like an error. Personally I'd call their office anyway - they should have someone standing in for urgent things even when he's away?

Somebody told me not to use Johnsons Baby Shampoo, as whatever it is that makes it bubble is too harsh. I personally use bicarb or salt dissolve in hot water.

Well luckely my eyes are ok today, I tried it last night before bed, ouch.

It does have fucidic acid in it like fucalthalmic, but also sodium, I tried not to get any in my eyes, but a little bit did, and it hurt.

This morning i just stuck to regular over the counter lid scrub.

I was told by an eye specialist i seen that deals specifically with eye infections to use lid scrubs in addition to the fucalthalmic, so using shampoo would not have sufficed, I already have a lid scrub from over the counter store, this is a prescription to be used after you clean the lids, you rub it on your lids as well.
