  • 2 weeks on warm-compresses/massages

My regime is: warm-compresses 2/times a day for 15 mins.
My eyelashes/eyelids are perfectly clean. Nothing is coming out after massage is performed. Dr said my MGs look inflammed. It can't be that bad condition, but eyes feel bone dry these days.

What Am I doing wrong? I have the feeling cleaning is worthless, I know you prevent bacterial infection, but scrubing the surface won't let me reach the glands where the problem is. Something that bothers me...How can evaporative dry eye become aqueous deficent?

I did a breath test on H Pylori which resulted negative. I thought that bacteria could be responsible for my MGD. Now, I have no clue what is causing this malfunction of my glands. I'm young and healthy.

If my glands naturally tend to produce an anormal amount of oil and this prolongues in time...How am I supposed to revert symptoms?

Sorry about the moaning. I had a terrible dry eye day.

Neither Azasite nor Restasis are available here. I have to disagree about Spain having good doctors. Maybe they are good at operating myopia but have little knowledge of other eye conditions. I can get generic cyclosporin from my corneal specialist so I will ask him in my next visit. He prescribed me minocycline but I have to wait 2 weeks becouse I have a blood test on H Pylori pending and it can interfere.

I was on Accutane like 2 years ago. Possibly it awakened my blepharitis.
I've heard Azasite is used for bacterial conjunctivitis, Can you confirm that it can actually penetrate into the meibomian glands? Because that's exactly what I need.

I know it's weird. Dr. didn't explain that in detail. I did some research and apparently there's a relation between both bleph-dry eye and H Pylori infection. (many studies remark that). My Dr. works for a lab sure he found some evidence but unfortunately breath test was negative and with an accuracy of 95% I have no hope. It's a shame, I had so many expectations, if I killed the bacteria I could end this nightmare too, but there's no bacteria

Just a comment on Azasite: I have been using it for several months and I do apply it to my eye (like a regular eye drop), not to the eyelid. I have MGD and it has been helpful to me. I put one drop in each eye once a day.

I also am on doxycycline and Restasis (for very low tear production); I also use Dwelle once or twice a day and do warm compresses.

My eyes are still terribly bloodshot all the time and generally uncomfortable (much more so sometimes than others), but this big mix of treatments has definitely been helpful.
