I've tried this, and wow, it's such a warm sensation all over my eyelids. It feels like I'm relaxing with my eyes closed on a sunny beach. I definitely have MGD and evaporative dry eye when considering how much relief it brings me, no doubt now.
The one problem is that the blood vessels on my lid margins are irritated, so pressing against the sclera with the q-tip does hurt, and for some hours afterwards. But I guess that I should still do it because ultimately the additional oil secretions should soothe them?
Also I've read that it was advised to use "refrigerated unpreserved eye drops" after having performed the massage. What is it for, is it to allow the oil to spread to all parts of the inner eyelid? Is it absolutely necessary to use both refrigerated and unpreserved eye drops?
Because frankly Dwelle is the only brand I've found I can tolerate well, and you can't refrigerate it. Should I use it still just after the massage?
I do admit that after having done it, I do seem to get additional relief from cold.
