Is this your experience with MG expression?

Hi, here is a video of Meibomian gland expression where the thickened meibum comes out like spaghetti.

Just wondering if this is what MG expression should look like if you have MGD resulting from altered consistency.

I think that IF I was able to duplicate that technique myself, some of my MG's would for sure have discharge like that. Since I can't express them as good as they did in that video, the clogged ones just have the white stuff kind of bulge out a bit when I attempt an expression.

I think having that paddle behind the lid makes a HUGE difference in one's ability to get the really clogged stuff out. Trouble is, I think it would be really tough to do that on oneself.

I guess that's why we need to melt the meibum with heat before we do it ourselves... it's the only way the clogged up stuff will ever be soft enough for the average patient to get it out by themselves.
